One
performance and you'll be hooked, there is no avoiding it. A sound
rooted in tradition, with a drive that is pure Bluegrass, Foxtail takes
you on a musical journey with every new show.
Foxtail was originally founded in 1997. Current band members are Nora Galloway, Gord DeVries, Larry Johnston, Marnie Niemi and Pete Robertson.
Their shared vision and passion for the music has resulted in a unique blend of fresh new material performed in a traditional style. Foxtail's use of a single microphone harkens back to the early days of bluegrass when musicianship and careful choreography played dominant roles. Audiences clearly embrace Foxtail's lively performances and obvious enthusiasm.
Here's what Raymond McClean had to say, aftering watching a performance at the 2002 IBMA World of Bluegrass Fanfest:
"I was pleased to hear your fine performance in Louisville, Kentucky. Your showcase at the IBMA convention provided the entertainment and promise of an exciting new band. I enjoyed the first performance so much, I stayed an extra day to hear another.
I was particularly impressed with the fine quality of your original songs. Your arrangements and performance show the magic that can happen when everyone in the group listens and works together to make the group sound good. Your band had the sort of chemistry that drew me in and made me feel part of the performance.
Judging from the reaction of the crowd, this was the popular opinion.
Congratulations on a job well done. "
Sincerely, Raymond W. McClain
